Resiliency is the capacity to recover quickly from or adjust easily to adversity or change.
Landscape Architects are uniquely suited to help build resiliency into social, cultural, economic, natural, and built environments. At the 2021 Fall Conference, we will explore ways that landscape architects enable greater resiliency through literal and figurative community-building, understand how long-term partnerships with landscape architects can help communities flourish, and learn more about how an Indigenous-led, collaborative community project is addressing historic misdeeds and promoting economic development and community healing—all while reworking the physical landscape and collective memory of Rapid City. We’ll also learn how to engage with people and communities more effectively, especially in difficult conversations, we’ll celebrate the vibrant arts community of western South Dakota, and we’ll honor the accomplishments of our colleagues. We look forward to seeing you there!
